Our method can make images that change appearance when broken up into puzzle pieces and rearranged. These are jigsaw puzzles with multiple solutions!
To do this, we define three different jigsaw pieces: a corner piece, an edge piece, and a center piece. Unlike a normal jigsaw, in which only one piece will fit with another, these three pieces are designed such that any two pieces can fit together. This allows us to make arbitrary permutations of the four corner pieces, the eight edge pieces, and the eight corner pieces.
